Few races but good results

After buying the boat in November 2004 we have used the boat for crusing and racing purposes. We are doing only a few races a year and both the crew and the owners are very pleased with the results so far. Our results have been:
Hovdan Skagen Race 2005 - 2nd in class
Færder race 2005 - 1st in class
Watski Two Star 2005 - 1st in class
Hovdan Skagen Race 2006 - 1st in class and overall
Færder race 2006 - 1st in class
Watski Two Star 2006 - 5th in class
Færder race 2007 - DNF -:(
Watski Two Star 2007 - 1st in class and overall

8 races and 5 victories - Very Good. Thanks to crew and sailing master Arve Roaas

The boat is now heavy loaded with all crusing gear and ready for 3 weeks of crusing in Scandinavia.

Watski Two Star 2007 - "Some luck, the rest coincidences" -:)-:)

As always a lot of preperation for both of us. Boat up to be cleand and one full day of fine-tuning before we took off to Hankø for the start at 11 PM. Started with a heavy #1 and full main. Took a reef later but had to change to #3. It went well but was an demaning operation because of heavy wind and heavy seas. The boat performed very well in these conditions (as always). Elapsed time to Arendal was 10 hours and 40 minutes, 1st in class and 3rd on this leg overall.

Next leg to Marstrand started in good gonditions. Wind from west, 8-14 m/s, gave us a long spinnaker reach. Broached just after hoisting the spinnaker but after that most things went very well. Gybing with only 4 hands available is challencing when in these conditions. Arrived in Marstrand at 1 AM after 12 hours and 29 minutes. 1st in class and 2nd overall after 2 legs. 4 minutes behind the leader overall, a Baltic 52.
Started together with this boat on the morning and had a dual strategy. Keep the clear lead in the class and catch up with the overall leader. We succeeded with both but it became more exiting than we wanted when we had a bad course after the island of Koster. Became number 4 in class on this leg and 19th overall. We sailed in 14 hours and 55 minutes on this leg which gave us a class and overall victory. As always fun but demanding.

Færder seilasen 2007

Nightmare #1. After 12 hours of sailing we approached Nærsnes and the captain took the brutal decision to retire from the race and rather go for some beers in Drøbak. All available weather forecasts predicted no wind the day after. One boat in class managed to complete the race (Mumm 36). CONGRATULATIONS
